Alex Ovechkin, Rocking The No-Visor Look, Returns To The Ice In Russia
The Capitals captain is playing in the "Match of the Year" in Russia, an All-Star game between NHL and KHLers from the nation.
Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin’s still got it.
The 39-year-old was back on the ice for the first time this offseason, as he skated with Artemi Panarin, Mikhail Sergachev and more stars back in Moscow ahead of the “Match Of The Year” on Sunday.
Going out on the ice with no visor, Ovechkin got some skating work in and also showcased his wicked shot, which hasn’t faded with time.

The Match Of The Year is an annual All-Star Game between Russian NHL and KHL players. Ovechkin also played in the game last year.
Ovechkin recently returned from his vacation in Turkey and is back in Russia to begin training for the upcoming season. He showed off some of his work on social media on Tuesday, as he got back in the gym with longtime trainer Pavel Burlachenko.
The Russian winger is set to play in his 21st NHL season, which also marks the final year of his contract with Washington. Despite speculation, Ovechkin hasn’t decided what his NHL future holds following this year.
Ovechkin is coming off a historic year where, despite missing 16 games after breaking his leg, he scored 44 goals — the third-most in the league — to overtake Wayne Gretzky as the NHL’s all-time leading goal scorer.
Now, as he gets back to work, he is doing what he can to stay healthy and properly prepare for the upcoming campaign.
