Capitals See Another Center Go Down With Injury As Pierre-Luc Dubois Hurt In Loss To Islanders
The Capitals lost another key center to injury on Friday.
WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are already missing a top center in Dylan Strome up front, and now, for the second time this season, Pierre-Luc Dubois is also injured.
After digging in for a face-off near the end of the first period, Dubois went down to the ice in visible pain and had to be attended to by trainer Jason Serbus. He was ultimately helped off the ice and went down the tunnel to the dressing room, and did not return.
Dubois had already missed five games this season due to an upper-body injury, and made his return back on Saturday. He’s been limited to just five games this season and has yet to find the scoresheet.
Strome is day-to-day with a lower-body injury of his own, and though he was a game-time decision for Friday, did not dress. He could potentially return on Saturday against the Buffalo Sabres.
Beyond Dubois and Strome, Ethen Frank, who was called up amid the injuries up front, is also now on the injured reserve after being hurt on Tuesday. On defense, Rasmus Sandin remains on the IR with an upper-body injury.
Washington ultimately fell 3-1 to New York.
