Capitals' Lineup & Combinations For Hershey Preseason Tilt vs. Flyers
Here's what to know as the Capitals face the Flyers in Hershey on Thursday.
The Washington Capitals are in for a special game in Hershey on Thursday, as they’ll take over their AHL affiliate’s arena for a preseason tilt with the Philadelphia Flyers.
Making it even more special is the lineup, which will feature brothers Aliaksei and Ilya Protas and Dylan and Matt Strome. A number of Bears regulars will also play, along with NHL regulars.
Here are what the combinations are expected to look like:
Ivan Miroshnichenko-Dylan Strome-Ryan Leonard
Andrew Cristall-Connor McMichael-Aliaksei Protas
Sonny Milano-Hendrix Lapierre-Ethen Frank
Matt Strome-Ilya Protas-Justin Sourdif/Spencer Smallman
Rasmus Sandin-Matt Roy
Declan Chisholm-Dylan McIlrath
David Gucciardi-Vincent Iorio
Clay Stevenson
Charlie Lindgren
Here are some game notes:
Expect one of Sourdif or Smallman to sit out, though it appears that Sourdif could get into preseason action sooner rather than later after recently getting over an illness that kept him non-contact to open training camp
Spencer Carbery is keeping the Milano-Lapierre-Frank line together after they showed impressive chemistry in Boston. Look for all three to stand out once again as each looks to remain on the roster.
Vincent Iorio led all Capitals in ice time in their preseason opener, so look for him to make noise on defense.
Ryan Leonard makes his preseason debut and first taste of NHL action since the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Expect Clay Stevenson and Charlie Lindgren to split the net, as was the case with Logan Thompson and Garin Bjorklund on Sunday.
