Capitals Injury Updates: Strome Day-To-Day, Sandin Heads To Injured Reserve
The Capitals got some injury news on Monday, with updates on Dylan Strome and Rasmus Sandin.
The Washington Capitals got some updates on the injury front on Monday, and Dylan Strome’s injury appears to be less severe than originally thought.
Per coach Spencer Carbery, Strome is day-to-day with a lower-body injury. He was hurt in the first period of Saturday’s loss to the Ottawa Senators when he collided with Artem Zub and went down hard into the end boards while Jakob Chychrun also fell on his back leg. He’d tried to return but ultimately left the game.
With Strome on the shelf, Ethen Frank is back up from Hershey, and Connor McMichael is filling in for Strome on a new-look first line alongside Alex Ovechkin and Ryan Leonard.
Meanwhile, Rasmus Sandin also remains day-to-day, but went on the injured reserve on Monday (retroactive to Oct. 21) to make space for Frank. Sandin skated on his own ahead of Capitals practice, but did not stay on to skate with the group.
Neither Strome nor Sandin are traveling with the Capitals to Dallas as they prepare to face the Stars on Tuesday.

No joke, I was just about to check on injury status, and you already had it!
