Caps Daily Brew: A Busy Week For Ovechkin, Free Agent Buzz, Strome, Backstrom & More Capitals Star In Charity Softball Game For Alzner Foundation
Here's your daily dose of Capitals headlines.
It’s been a busy week this offseason for the Washington Capitals, with speculation surrounding Alex Ovechkin’s future brewing as the team looks ahead to free agency and, ultimately, enjoys some time away from the rink.
Fun was the theme of the day on Saturday in Tysons, Virginia, as Dylan Strome and Connor McMichael, along with Nicklas Backstrom, T.J. Oshie, Braden Holtby and more Capitals alumni, took the field for Karl Alzner’s second annual “Swing Into Summer” charity softball game for the Alzner Foundation.
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price also made a cameo, along with several other local athletes.
Oshie’s team stunned with a 26-24 win in extra innings, but ultimately, it was a great day for a great cause, and players spent a lot of time interacting with local fans following the festivities.
Beyond the softball, here’s a wrap-up of all your latest Capitals news and notes.
