Here's your daily dose of Capitals headlines.
Besides head coach Spencer Carbery winning the Jack Adams Award, the Washington Capitals are in the midst the dog days of the offseason, with the Stanley Cup Final in full swing and the team’s attention shifting toward its summer to-do list.
For Washington, there are multiple questions, including who will take over as the third-line center and where the team will add to bolster the scoring depth across the board.
Meanwhile, one of the team’s former centers in Evgeny Kuznetsov, who is looking for a new team after mutually terminating his KHL contract with SKA St. Petersburg, found himself facing some harsh criticism at the hands of SKA’s new bench boss.
Also in Russia, captain Alex Ovechkin left the country on Saturday to head to Turkey for a month of vacation time. Per MatchTV, he’ll meet with the president of the KHL during his vacation and will also start training for the upcoming season, with an emphasis on stretching.
Here’s your daily dose of Capitals headlines. The Daily Brew was put on pause this past week amid complications, but we’re back full-time.
