Inside The Capitals' New Third Jerseys
The Washington Capitals are bringing back the Screaming Eagle.
ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals are bringing back the Screaming Eagle, this time, with new colors and a fresh look.
Washington unveiled its new third jerseys on Monday, featuring the team’s classic Screaming Eagle logo. The jersey, which had been black the last few seasons, is primarily red, with white shoulder coloring, which pays homage to the 1970s and 80s teams.
On the shoulders is the 1990s Capitol Dome logo, and the jerseys also features a vintage lace-up neckline. Inside the collar is the “Caps” wordmark, and the jersey features the team’s current lettering and number style. The D.C. flag is also stitched onto the bottom of the sweater.
This jersey will be worn 15 times this upcoming season, with the debut being on Oct. 17 against the Minnesota Wild. It will be the team’s third jersey for the next three seasons.
Here’s a closer look at the jerseys.
