Dylan Strome Hurt In Capitals' Tilt With Senators
The Capitals saw another key piece go down with injury, as Dylan Strome left Saturday's contest with a lower-body ailment.
WASHINGTON — After getting Pierre-Luc Dubois back from a lower-body ailment, the Washington Capitals saw another key center in Dylan Strome go down with injury in Saturday’s game against the Ottawa Senators.
Strome was skating in the offensive zone when he got tied up with Artem Zub and went down to the ice. Jakob Chychrun then fell on Strome’s leg, and he went hard into the end boards.
The 28-year-old needed help getting off the ice and made his way down the tunnel, but tried to return and skate through it. Though he took a couple of shifts, he ultimately went back to the locker room and was ruled out of the remainder of the contest.
Through nine games so far this season, Strome has two goals and eight assists for 10 points. Without him, the Capitals are not just missing their top-line center, but their go-to pivot on the power play.
With Strome out, Connor McMichael moved back to center, with Justin Sourdif also taking shifts in Strome’s spot on the top line.
The Capitals fell 7-1 in an overall ugly showing.
