Capitals vs. Red Wings: Line Combinations & What To Know
Here's what to know as the Capitals host the Red Wings.
WASHINGTON — The Washington Capitals are looking to follow up on a convincing win on Thursday as they host the Detroit Red Wings in the first game of a home-and-home series.
Here’s what to know before puck drop at 12:30 p.m. at Capital One Arena.
Washington Capitals Line Combinations
The Capitals will see one change from Thursday, with call-up Ivan Miroshnichenko drawing in on that fourth line where Bogdan Trineyev was. Trineyev was re-assigned and Miroshnichenko was brought up to give the team flexibility to potentially activate Ryan Leonard amid the holiday freeze.
Leonard will not play on Saturday but is being evaluated on a “day-by-day” basis and was not definitively ruled out for the weekend.
Hendrix Lapierre is recovered from illness, but will be a healthy scratch up front, while Trevor van Riemsdyk and Dylan McIlrath will sit as healthy scratches on the backend.
Logan Thompson starts.
Here are the combinations:
Alex Ovechkin-Dylan Strome-Anthony Beauvillier
Aliaksei Protas-Justin Sourdif-Tom Wilson
Sonny Milano-Connor McMichael-Ethen Frank
Brandon Duhaime-Nic Dowd-Ivan Miroshnichenko
Martin Fehervary-John Carlson
Jakob Chychrun-Matt Roy
Rasmus Sandin-Declan Chisholm
Logan Thompson
Charlie Lindgren
