Capitals Bring Back Anthony Beauvillier On Two-Year Deal
The Capitals extended Anthony Beauvillier after missing out on Nikolai Ehlers in free agency.
ARLINGTON, V.A. — The Washington Capitals are bringing back Anthony Beauvillier, who signed a two-year, $5.5 million contract extension on Thursday.
Beauvillier’s new contract carries an AAV of $2.75 million.
The 29-year-old picked up 15 goals and 25 points through 81 games between the Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins this past season, with five of those points coming in 18 games with D.C. after he was traded. Since making his debut with Washington March 9, he ranked third on the team with 31 hits, and in 10 playoff games, he added six points.
Beauvillier’s signing comes after the Capitals missed out on Nikolaj Ehlers in free agency. The team still wants to bolster its forwards and scoring, and could look to add another third-line center as things continue on.
